My Background
In 1979 I began work as a massage therapist for an acupuncturist in Preston. Having gained experience working in this busy clinic for 4 years I then opened my own practice offering massage and healing
In 1988 I opened the Towngate Therapy Clinic in Leyland where I continue to work alongside therapists in other disciplines

Inspired by working in the Preston clinic I enrolled on the acupuncture training programme at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York graduating in 1991
This enabled me to offer acupuncture alongside massage and treat more complex external and internal conditions
The skills of acupuncture, massage, healing and breath work together to nurture the natural healing ability of the patient.
The treatment is given in warm, comfortable, surroundings where the patient can relax with confidentiality assured
Over the years I have taught acupressure/massage on adult education courses and to acupuncture students at both the Northern College of Acupuncture in York and Salford University (TCM degree course)
Sharing relaxation, mindful breath work, meditation and Qigong/Tai Chi is an important part of my work. From women recovering from breast cancer in Chorley hospital, and clients attending the 'Gentle Approach to Cancer' programme to patients rehabilitating at 'Heartbeat' in Preston
Qigong and Tai Chi Classes
I run weekly classes, workshops and retreats in Tai Chi, relaxation and meditation
I love to share this beautiful, mindful practice

Acupuncture
Acupuncture uses fine needles to stimulate the body to heal itself. This age old therapy developed in China hundreds of years ago continues to be used today to treat conditions linked to our modern often stressful life style. Also, a wide range of other conditions with both internal and external symptoms can be helped.

Therapeutic Massage
Mindful Breath and Relaxation
Massage is a very instinctive treatment. If we bang our elbow the instinct is to rub the area to help it feel better. Therapeutic massage takes this approach to a deeper level and when used in this structured way improves circulation, eases pain, improves stiffness and promotes deep relaxation.
I often use massage in conjunction with acupuncture for muscular/skeletal issues
Teaching people to breath, relax and be more mindful in their lives can help to alleviate pain and the suffering that comes with it.
I teach these simple, life changing techniques to my patients
Also simple Qigong exercises for health
